Digital Methods and Data Literacy is an interdisciplinary initiative to embed digital methodologies and data literacy into teaching and learning across UCD with the participation of the schools of Architecture, Planning and Environmental Policy; Computer Science; English, Drama, Film and Creative Writing; Information and Communication Studies; History and the History of Art.
The project is supported by The National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. The website features digital resources for students, researchers, and teachers along with a comprehensive list of digital tools.
This Professional Certificate offers a unique opportunity students to enhance their digital competence and build their capacity to interpret data.
The aim of this course is to enhance the skills and career prospects of recent graduates in non-STEM subjects by equipping them with strong digital skills, the capacity to critically evaluate digital media resources and to work with data relevant to their academic discipline and beyond. Students will benefit from a range of practical workshops and talks by experts in humanities and computer science. No prior IT training is required.
The ADVANCE Centre for Professional Education brings together academic experts and industry leaders from across the high tech sector with the common goal of delivering a portfolio of modules and courses addressing Irish industry’s future skills needs in the digital arena.
A key goal of the Centre is to support upskilling professional learners seeking flexible study options alongside full-time students. The Centre was founded in 2020 by University College Dublin, IT Sligo and TU Dublin.
The National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education is the national body responsible for leading and advising on the enhancement of teaching and learning in Irish higher education. We work with those who teach, learn and shape policy and practice to ensure a valued and informed teaching and learning culture in Irish higher education. The Forum focusses on the professional development of all those who teach, teaching and learning in a digital world, teaching and learning within and across disciplines, and student success.
